Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before booking.

The Promotion

Customers can receive a 12.5% discount on eligible admission tickets by entering the promotional code SUMMERVAT when booking online.

The discount must be applied during the booking process and cannot be added afterwards.

Children's meals will also be reduced by 12.5%.

Promotion Period

The promotion applies only to visits taking place between:

25 June 2026 and 1 September 2026 inclusive

The promotional code will only be valid for bookings within this period.

Visits taking place before 25 June 2026 or after 1 September 2026 are not eligible.

Eligible Tickets

The discount applies to standard admission tickets booked online in advance for visits taking place during the promotion period.

Children's Meals

The Government's temporary VAT reduction also applies to certain children's meals.

As part of the Summer Savings promotion, eligible children's meals will benefit from reduced pricing during the promotion period.

At Scribbleton, this includes:

• Picky Plates

• Snack Packs

The reduced pricing will be available between 25 June and 1 September 2026 only.

Adult meals, drinks and snacks sold separately and not as part of a meal deal, cakes and other café items are not included in the promotion and will continue to be charged at their normal prices.

Advance Bookings Only

The Summer Savings discount is available exclusively on advance online bookings.

Walk In admissions are not eligible and will be charged at standard admission prices.

Why? Advance bookings help us plan staffing levels, food preparation, baking, stock ordering, seating and overall capacity. Having a clear picture of how many visitors to expect allows us to provide the best possible experience for everyone visiting, especially during the summer when seasonal fluctuations are common.

By linking the Summer Savings discount to advance bookings, we're able to reward customers who help us plan ahead while keeping the promotion manageable for our small team.

We appreciate this won't suit everyone, and we'll continue to welcome walk in visitors whenever capacity allows, but the promotional discount is reserved for advance bookings only.

Why 12.5%?

The Government has temporarily reduced VAT on eligible admissions from 20% to 5%.

Many people understandably assume this means prices should reduce by 15%, however VAT only forms part of the total ticket price.

For example:

A standard Walker ticket currently costs £11.95.

At the current 20% VAT rate:

• Admission value: £9.96

• VAT: £1.99

• Total paid: £11.95

If the admission value remains exactly the same (£9.96) but VAT is reduced to 5%:

• Admission value: £9.96

• VAT: £0.50

• Total paid: £10.46

This represents a reduction of approximately 12.5%.

We've therefore chosen to pass on the full equivalent saving available on eligible admissions.

Return Tickets

Return tickets are not eligible for the Summer Savings promotion.

Return tickets are already discounted and remain valid for 3 months from the date of purchase, meaning they may be redeemed both during and outside of the Government's temporary VAT reduction period.

For this reason, return tickets fall outside the scope of the promotion.

Parties

Party packages are not eligible for the Summer Savings promotion.

The Government scheme applies only to eligible admissions and children's meals.

Scribbleton party packages include additional services, including but not limited to:

• Exclusive use of the party room

• Party setup and cleaning

• Party administration

• Decorations and party supplies

• Hosting and coordination

As these additional services fall outside the scope of the Government scheme, party packages do not qualify for the Summer Savings discount.

Existing Bookings

The Summer Savings discount cannot be applied to bookings made before the promotion launch date.

We are unable to:

• Add the discount to existing bookings

• Apply the discount retrospectively

• Amend completed bookings to include the discount

• Issue partial refunds

• Refund the difference where a booking was made without the discount code

  
  

Forgotten Discount Codes

Please ensure the promotional code has been entered and the discount applied before completing your booking.

Unfortunately, we cannot add discounts after a booking has been confirmed or issue refunds where a discount code has not been used.

Discount Code Usage

The promotional code:

• Must be entered at the time of booking

• Has no cash value

• Cannot be exchanged for cash or credit

• Cannot be used retrospectively

• Cannot be combined with any other promotional code unless explicitly stated

  
  

Why Are We Using a Discount Code Instead of Reducing Prices?

As a small family-run business, changing prices and VAT rates across our booking systems, tills, accounting software, reporting systems and promotional materials for a short temporary period would create a significant amount of administration.

All administration at Scribbleton is managed in house alongside the many other responsibilities involved in running a small independent attraction.

Using a booking discount allows us to pass savings on to families while keeping the process manageable and ensuring we can focus our time on delivering a great visitor experience.

General

Scribbleton reserves the right to amend, withdraw or end the promotion if required due to changes in Government guidance, legislation, operational requirements or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Any changes will be communicated via our website and social media channels.
